Hope on Deck: A Legacy of Compassion

Earle Van, the founder of Hope on Deck, leaves behind a legacy of compassion and service. The organization, which provides support for those battling addiction, will continue to carry his vision and mission forward.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I’m writing to tell you that Earle lost his battle last night. He tried so hard to fight his demons. He fought a hard 15 year battle with the disease that took over his mind , soul and now his body. He so desperately wanted to be free of his addiction and this is the way the good Lord saw fit to make that happen. Our only solace is that he is free of the pain that held him captive and is no longer struggling. He is at peace and is HOME with the angels. There is no doubt that his uncle, mom mom , pop pop and all his friends that have gone before him were there waiting with open arms to welcome him when he arrived at the gates of heaven. Please pray for our family but especially his children who he loved more than life itself.
